Newton garages are older, and many of them are unheated
Newton’s housing matches its factory decades: solid garages, often detached or barely heated, with slabs that have seen a lot of freeze-thaw. Cracks get filled. A coating is not scheduled just because the calendar says someone is free.
When the slab is warm enough, these floors benefit more than most from being sealed, because the alternative is another decade of dust and salt in a garage that is already doing a lot of work.
